Each year the EOP&S Program selects a student of the year recipient. Students selected for this prestigious award have displayed a strong work ethic, followed all program rules and regulations, and have gone above an beyond to participate in the program.
Annai started at Modesto Junior College in spring 2015, as a student in the EOP&S Bridge Program. At first, she was uncertain about college and had to balance all the responsibilities at school and at home as a mother and older sister to her two siblings. Although Annai faced many obstacles before, during and after completing her Bridge semester, she stood out amongst her peers and excelled academically in her classes and was eventually asked to be a Bridge tutor and mentor. After becoming a tutor, Annai was awarded the "Commitment to Excellence" Award over multiple years (an award that is given by the Bridge students). Annai graduated from Modesto Junior College in spring of 2018, and has embarked on the next leg of her academic journey at CSU Stanislaus. We are very proud of her accomplishments. She will be missed in EOPS but, we are so excited to see what great things come from her next.
Each year the EOP&S Program selects a most improved student of the year. This award goes to a student that did not start off well in the program but overcame the start to be a model EOP&S student.
