Veteran Services Recognition
Military Honor Cords and Sashes
Red White and Blue Cord:
In recognition of your military service and support to the United States of America, MJC Veteran Services would like to honor your graduation by authorizing you to wear the red, white, and blue honor cord to your commencement ceremony. These red, white and blue cords are a special recognition for those who have made an unwavering commitment to both their nation and their academic studies. This is a voluntary program. Students attending graduation must contact the Veterans Services Department for a free cord once they have been approved for graduation. In order to receive this cord you will need to be in good academic standing. This cord is provided to you at no cost by the Modesto Junior College Veteran Services Department. Please contact the Veterans Coordinator with any questions.
U. S. Branch Service Sash
If you are graduating and are an honorably discharged U.S. veteran, are currently serving in the U.S. military (active duty or reserves), you are eligible for your U. S. Branch of Service Sash. The sash is not authorized for military dependents.
What we need to verify status:
- Must contact our office to enter your information into our database.
- Verification of graduation
- DD214, Certificate of Eligibility for dependents, CalVet Fee Waiver Award Letter
