GE Trading Cards
We are beginning with building GE trading cards to assist in building Coursework Roadmaps. These are not a primary tool for building roadmaps, but are a resource to help faculty see what your department would recommend as an option for non-majors. I have attached a sample we built for Art 169-Survey of Asian Art.
When choosing GE options discipline experts would sit down with their counseling facilitator partners. We will ask them to consider how to order the pace of the courses in their major and how well they can coordinate with the 1st & 2nd Fifteens of their School. They will then work together using the Green, Blue, and White (IGETC, CSU GE & MJC GE) lists, and with all of these resources together refine the 1st & 2nd Fifteen, and build a 3rd & 4th Fifteen. Where the cards come in is when a faculty identifies an area of GE, and is not certain which courses that fit the appropriate transfer patterns would align best with their program curriculum and the General Education needs of their students. These cards would then serve as up to three recommendations from all of the programs within that GE area.
