REGISTRATION
A $10.00 Entry Fee is required of all participants. Payment of the fee allows students
to submit multiple entries to multiple contests, subject to the limitations of the
individual contests. Students entering multiple contests need only pay the fee once.
This fee is due by Friday, March 18th at 5:00pm.
Visit our ticket website to pay your entry fee under the event labeled "Celebration of the Humanities 2021-2022 Entry." If you have any questions, please call the Arts Division office at 209-575-6081.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
If you are submitting more than one entry, you will need to fill out an entry form
for each contest you wish to enter.
In the digital era of smartphones and information access, the Celebration of the Humanities Contest is proud to inaugurate the Film Category with three available contests.
Reminder: if you are submitting more than one entry, you will need to fill out an entry form for each one. Students may submit up to three (3) total entries.
- Sixty (60) Second Short
- Modeled loosely upon Lumière and Company (1995), the Sixty Second Short category asks contestants to submit a short film of no more than sixty seconds with no limitations on the content, genre, style, or subject. The film should address a concept, theme, or idea within the short, allotted space. Title screen nor credit scenes should be counted in the sixty seconds.
- Five-Minute Film
- The Five-Minute Film category asks contestants to submit a film of no more than five (5) minutes with no limitations on the content, genre, style, or subject. Films can use any style or technique. The film should introduce a concept, theme, or idea, and achieve a resolution within the five-minute time frame.
- Short Film (15 minutes or fewer)
- The Short Film category asks contestants to submit a film of no more than fifteen (15) minutes with no limitations on the content, genre, style, or subject. Films can use any style or technique. The film should introduce a concept, theme, or idea, and achieve a resolution within the fifteen-minute time frame.
All video file submissions should be a maximum of 1080p resolution, and in the form of an .mp4 or .mov video file. Or, you may provide a Vimeo or YouTube link instead.
