Earn college credits for free while still in high school
Did you know that high school students who enroll part time in Modesto Junior College
classes do not have to pay the $46 per unit fee? That’s right… High school student
students can take up to 11 units per semester without paying for them! (You still
have to pay for any required text books and other fees.)
Here’s a link to the Advanced Admission Form you will need to complete and have signed by your high school principal or counselor to enroll at MJC.
You must also set up an account and complete the online CCCApply application to enroll at MJC.
Take a look at our Class Schedule to find courses that you are interested in taking. (We suggest taking classes with course numbers in the 100s because they are transferable. Other courses may only be applicable towards achieving an Associate Degree or a Certificate.)

Taking college courses while still in high school can save you a lot of money in tuition and give you a head start on achieving your college education! For instance, if you start as a junior and successfully complete one 3-unit transferable class each semester and one in the summer and then take two more your senior year, you will have completed 15 transferable units. This is equivalent to a whole semester at a California State University, and at CSU Stanislaus that semester would cost you $2,736 in tuition!
