Conversation Partners Program
Unfortunately at this time The CPP is on hold
The Conversation Partners Program (CPP) is dedicated to helping ESL students improve their English speaking ability through cross cultural dialogue with students who are native English speakers in a group setting. The program offers 1:1 tutoring sessions for ESL students who need extra assistance developing their conversation skills. CPP hopes to help ESL students become confident, comfortable, and competent in English Conversation.
Objectives:
- Improve conversation skill of ESL students
- Provide a support network for ESL students
- Foster cross-cultural friendships and cultural awareness
- Provide volunteer, learning, and teaching opportunities for native English speakers
This program is unique at MJC because it seeks to bring students from around the world together in one spot to share their thoughts and support each other in both their personal and academic lives. This program is recommended for ESL students who are trying to find a way to learn spoken English in a fun and supportive environment as well as to native speakers of English who are studying foreign languages, communications or linguistics. This program would be of benefit to anyone on campus who wishes to broaden their outlook about the world and its people.
The Conversation Partners Program is held in the In the International Student Center. Times may vary according to semester. Sessions last from one hour to an hour and thirty minutes.
