MJC Off ~ Balance Dance performs “Amidst the Chaos”
Modesto Junior College Off ~ Balance Dance performs “Amidst the Chaos” an evening of dance in Performance on February 5, 6, 7, and 8 at 7 p.m., in the Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto.
The concert of modern and contemporary dance features the MJC Off~Balance Dance Company, an eclectic ensemble of young and mature artists who perform with physicality, integrity and grace.
“Off~Balance incorporates a cast of 25 dancers who have not only invested hours of hard work into each dance, but have pushed themselves to new heights,” said Kim T. Davis, MJC Professor of Dance and director of the show. “The commitment and dedication is inspiring to witness and we invite you to get a glimpse of these wonderful dancers and creative works of art.”
Choreographers include faculty members Kim T. Davis, Lori Bryhni and Maggie Sniffen, Off~Balance resident choreographer Rebbecca Meyers, guest alumni choreographers Alexendra Sheppard, Bran Niedens and Jennifer Pirrone and student choreographers Fortino Garcia and Monica Zaragoza.
Tickets for performances are $11 for general admission and $9 for seniors and students of all ages, with a special student ticket price of $6 offered only on February 5. In addition to being available online at tix.com, tickets are available at the MJC Auditorium Box Office on East Campus, open Tuesdays through Fridays, 12 noon - 5 p.m., or by calling (209) 575-6776 during these hours. Tickets may also be purchased at the door beginning 90 minutes prior to each performance.
