Student Alert: Residential permit parking established for Myrtle Avenue
Do you sometimes park in the neighborhood area around Modesto Junior College instead of on campus? Please note the following important change!
Recently the Modesto City Council had approved a Residential Parking Permit Program on the 400 and 500 block of Myrtle and includes the side yard frontage area on the intersecting streets of Stoddard, Morris and Coldwell. The City of Modesto has installed “Permit Parking Only” signs on the 400 and 500 blocks of Myrtle Avenue and in the areas on Stoddard, Morris and Coldwell that are part of the restricted parking zone.
Residents only (with permits) will be allowed to park in this section of Myrtle Avenue on Mondays through Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Modesto Police Department will issue warnings to vehicles illegally parked in the Residential Permit Parking Zone from January 11-22. Enforcement will begin on January 25, and any vehicle parked in this zone without a Residential Permit will be ticketed!
MJC students are encouraged to purchase a campus parking permit for $30 for the spring semester. Permits are available from the Business Services Office located in the Student Center on East Campus.
