Important Updates to Online Access for Students
In compliance with state and federal directives, Yosemite Community College District (YCCD) and Modesto Junior College will begin utilizing multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all students on March 4, 2024. Multi-factor authentication protects student’s MJC accounts by requiring additional confirmation of their identity through something they possess (e.g. a cell phone, tablet, etc.) to submit an additional identity verification at login. Enabling MFA enhances the security of student accounts and mandates users to provide two or more credentials for identity verification during login. For example, after entering their password, students may also need to input a dynamically generated verification code from an authenticator app or text on their smartphone.
Beginning March 4, 2024, students may encounter a "Keep your account secure" prompt when accessing various web-based applications, such as Outlook Online or Canvas. Students will have two options to enroll and should learn more about setting up multi-factor Authentication (MFA) before March 4, 2024.
Multi-factor authentication is a comprehensive security approach designed to safeguard
data and applications.
Students will have two options to set up multi-factor authentication utilizing:
Before you start:
