Irrigation Open House offered at MJC
Modesto Junior College Agriculture Department is hosting a free Irrigation Open House on Friday, May 17, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Agriculture complex on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Avenue, Modesto. Attendees are asked to take Shoemake Avenue off of Brink Avenue and park in the lot next to the Beef Unit. Guests will be shuttled from the parking lot to the demonstration area.
The open house celebrates the completion of construction and showcases MJC’s new irrigation facilities. Everyone with an interest in central valley agriculture and the appropriate use of water is welcome to attend.
The event offers equipment demonstrations that cover pump evaluation and efficiency, center pivot operation, and programming and drone NDVI imagery (normalized difference vegetation index images).
The Open House also includes irrigation vendor displays and a complimentary lunch is provided.
