Visiting Author Series hosts Evening with Frederick Luis Aldama

Modesto Junior College’s Visiting Author Series invites the community to Evening with "Professor LatinX" Frederick Luis Aldama, an Arts and Humanities Distinguished Professor of English and University Distinguished Scholar at The Ohio State University.

Presented by the Associated Students of MJC and the Literature and Language Arts Division, the free event is Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m. in Forum 102 on East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto.  A question and answer session and book signing follows the author’s talk. Campus parking is available for $2 in student parking lots.

Aldama is an Eisner and International Latino Book Award winning author, co-author and editor of 36 books, including “Your Brain on Latino Comics,” “The Cinema of Robert Rodriguez,” “Latinx Superheroes in Mainstream Comics” and acclaimed Latinx comics anthology, “Tales from La Vida.”

Aldama’s bilingual prose-art collection “Long Stories Cut Short: Fictions from the Borderlands” touches on the universal themes of romance, family, migration and expulsion. He is the founder and director of LASER, a nationally recognized mentoring and research hub for Latinx students. To learn more visit
