CEP Presents Documentary Film The Great American Lie
The Great American Lie calls the American Dream into question by focusing on examples of social and economic
immobility in our country. The film argues that many of the equity gaps we see increasing
today are rooted in cultural values that prioritize stereotypically “masculine” ideals,
such as individualism, power, and wealth, at the expense of valuable qualities often
regarded as “feminine,” such as caring for and cooperating with others. Following
the film will be a discussion.
This free screening presented by the Civic Engagement Project will be on Thursday,
March 12 at 7 p.m. in Forum 110 on East Campus.
