ASMJC offers thought-provoking events
American Holocaust:
The Associated Students of Modesto Junior College (ASMJC) invite the campus and community to a screening of the powerful documentary film American Holocaust: When It’s All Over I’ll Still Be Indian by Joanelle Romero on Wednesday, April 13 at 6 p.m. in Forum 110 on East Campus. Admission is free.
American Holocaust reveals a link between the Nazi holocaust, which claimed at least 6 million Jews, and the American Holocaust which claimed, according to conservative estimates, 19 million Indigenous People.
Films for Action states, “It is seldom noted anywhere in fact, be it in textbooks or on the internet, that Hitler studied America’s “Indian policy”, and used it as a model for what he termed “the final solution.”
A discussion will take place following the film. Light refreshments will be served.
Before Columbus:
ASMJC will also host “Before Columbus” - a campus discussion designed to enlighten attendees about the historical truth regarding Christopher Columbus and his discovery of a land already occupied by Natives.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. in Forum 110 on East Campus. A panel of three presenters will provide information to broaden participants’ knowledge and understanding of Christopher Columbus.
Light refreshments will be available. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Join us for both of these thought-provoking events!
