MJC offers Meet the Professionals Ag Career Expo and Workshops
Modesto Junior College Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Division invites MJC students and high school students to a “Meet the Professionals” Career Expo and Workshops on Thursday, February 25, in the Agriculture Center for Education on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Avenue, Modesto. Pre-registration is requested for this free event and can be completed at www.eventbrite.com.
The event begins with registration at 12:30 p.m. A United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) discussion panel will be held at 1 p.m., followed by professional workshops at 2 p.m., an interview skills and application workshop at 3 p.m., and the career expo held 3 – 5 p.m.
Professional workshops hosted by USDA from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. will include USDA culture; minimizing greenhouse gas emissions; trans-boundary animal diseases; working to end hunger and improve nutrition; and soil health and water infiltration.
Business partners participating in the Career Expo include Alltech, Almond Board of California, American Ag Credit, Bernardi Produce, Blue Diamond, Burchell Nursery, California Milk Advisory Board, California Poultry Association, Duarte Nursery, Gallo Winery, Garton Tractor, H.G.
