MJC offers New Student Day
Modesto Junior College is hosting a “New Student Day” to enroll high school seniors and other first time students on Thursday, June 13, 2019 on East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto. Students meet at 8 a.m. in the Gymnasium (entrance to the Gym faces Coldwell Avenue). Attendance and campus parking are free.
New Student Day assists students who are beginning the process of enrolling at MJC through the steps of application, orientation, placement and advising workshops. Hands-on assistance with the financial aid application or follow-up steps is available, and a parent information seminar is offered as well. There are optional campus tours and a free lunch is available. Click here to register for New Student Day!
Counselors and student success specialists from MJC have been active at high schools throughout Stanislaus County assisting seniors with the process of completing the required steps to enroll at the college. This proactive effort prepares them to receive on-site assistance with registration on New Student Day.
Those new students not previously served at the high schools are encouraged to begin the enrollment process by submitting an online application prior to attending New Student Day. Click on this link to begin the enrollment process and then click the “Apply Online” link to complete an application.
In an effort to improve student access, the event is for new students regardless of
where they are in the process of enrolling at MJC. They will be guided towards the
specific activities they need in order to complete their remaining enrollment steps during their
visit to campus on New Student Day. Students who have already completed the steps
to enrollment at their high school locations should attend the April 13 event for
assistance with registering for summer 2019 classes and/or attend on June 14 for assistance
with fall 2019 course registration.
