The Modesto Junior College Athletics Department and MJC Foundation invite the campus and community to the 19th Annual Pirates Fest - Beer, Wine and Food Celebration on Friday, May 11, 6 – 9 p.m. in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Avenue, Modesto.
The event features regional beers and wines for tasting, accompanied by food samples and a silent auction that includes premium wines, gift certificates, gift baskets and more. Proceeds benefit the 21 sports in MJC’s Athletic Program.
Over 30 breweries, wineries and local food establishments are expected to participate. In addition, there are sports memorabilia and door prizes.
Pouring beer samples for the evening are Blaker Brewing, Contentment Brewing, DBI Beverage, Delta Sierra Beverage, Dust Bowl Brewing Company and St. Stan’s Brewing Company.
Providing wine tasting for the event are Berryhill Family Vineyards, Bronco Wine Company, CJ Produx LLC, Delicato Family Vineyards, Gallo Family Vineyards, Grocery Outlet, Hatcher Winery, Renner Winery, Soulmates Wines and Wildhurst Vineyards.
Food and dessert vendors include Bayou Bar and Grill, Cheesecake Kitchen, Chopping Block Butcher Shop and Deli, El Marisquero, Fiscalini Cheese Company, KFC, O’Brien’s Market, Old Tyme Pastries, Orient House Chinese and Japanese Cuisine, P. Wexford’s Pub, Rueb’s Q’in BBQ, Starbucks, Woody’s Hawaiian BBQ and Yogurt Mill.
Call Box and Mattea Overstreet are playing live music and KHOP 95.1 radio station is also providing entertainment.
“It is a great atmosphere with plenty of food and drink provided by local businesses,” said Nick Stavrianoudakis, MJC athletics director. “Come enjoy a fun evening that supports MJC’s sports programs and our student athletes.”
