MJC Off-Balance Dance presents "Renderings" performances
Modesto Junior College Dance Department presents “Renderings” - Off~Balance in Performance on February 7, 8, 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on East Campus, 435 College Ave, Modesto.
The concert of modern and contemporary dance features the MJC Off~Balance Dance Company, an eclectic ensemble of young and mature artists who perform with physicality, integrity and grace, and a belief that through movement, the spoken word may be revealed.
“Off~Balance incorporates a cast of 25 dancers who have not only invested hours of hard work into each dance, but have pushed themselves to new heights,” said Kim T. Davis, MJC professor of dance. “The commitment and dedication is inspiring to witness and we invite you to get a glimpse of these wonderful dancers and creative works of art.”
The performance is choreographed by MJC instructors Kim T. Davis, Lori Bryhni and Maggie Sniffen, Off~Balance choreographer Rebbecca Meyers, along with MJC students, Jessica Espinoza, Tabitha Stewart, Cecily Smith and Angela Bass, and guest choreographer Alfonso Cervera.
An “Open Rehearsal” for Renderings is offered on Monday, January 29 at 6:30 p.m., and this evening provides a free, behind-the-scenes look at the choreographic process.
