Shelter-In-Place
ACTIVE SHOOTER: Get out! Call out! Hide out!
- If you hear gunshots, immediately get away if you are able (Get Out!).
- Call 9-1-1 and then Campus Safety if you are able (Call Out!).
- If you cannot flee, turn out the lights and barricade the door or lock if possible and HIDE yourself and others (Hide Out!).
- Do NOT come out of hiding until you are told to do so by police, EVEN IF THE BUILDING ALARM IS SOUNDING.
SEVERE WEATHER:
- Move away from exterior doors and windows into the core of the building. Building Coordinators have flashlights.
- Promote calm.
- If possible listen on a portable radio for changes in the weather.
- Remain in place until you are told it is safe to move about.
HAZARDOUS DISPERSAL OUTSIDE:
- Move away from exterior doors and windows into the core of the building. Building Coordinators have flashlights.
- Promote calm.
- Secure exterior doors if possible; stuff materials around exterior doors to prevent leakage; and post signs that a shelter-in-place is in progress.
- Once doors are secure, do NOT open them to let someone in.
- Remain in place until you are told it is safe to move about.
