Modesto Junior College recognizes that its curriculum and course offerings must be responsive to the needs of the students and the community that it serves, and that the college must continue to support its mission and goals of individual programs. Program Review is an ongoing, systematic process that is used to assess and improve student learning and achievement within each program offered at the college. The results of Program Review are used to continually improve and refine our programs to best support students' educational goals and achievement of those goals.
The 2026-2030 Program Review Cycle is kicking off during the Fall 2026 semester with the completion of a Comprehensive Program Review.
Comprehensive Program Review for the 2026-2030 cycle will be completed during the Fall 2026 semester. To assist departments in completing their Comprehensive Program Review, the Office of College Research & Planning has developed the following resources in the tabs below:
The Comprehensive Program Review is completed once every four years within MJC's four-year program review cycle. This template is used to provide departments the opportunity to assess and improve student learning and achievement within each program offered at the college.
The Comprehensive Program Review has departments reflect on their previous goals and projects, complete a department review/SWOT analysis, and develop a department plan with goals and projects for the next four years.
The Comprehensive Program Review template consists of two documents: the Fall 2026 Progress Review and the Action Planning Spreadsheet (linked within the Progress Review template).
To submit your department's Progress Report, upload the completed documents.
This workshop will provide an overview of the 2026-2030 Program Review Cycle and the Fall 2026 Comprehensive Program Review process, including the template, timeline, and helpful resources available.
Department Leads (identified based on Fall 2025 Progress Report submissions) will receive access to their department's template via email. Deans will be copied on the email to ensure proper routing of templates in case Leads have changed.
Working Sessions will be held to assist Department Leads with completing their department's Program Review.

These workshops will serve as a dedicated space for Department Leads to actively work on their Program Review documents with the Research Office and other Department Leads.
Working Session Dates:
Office Hours will be offered between September 7th and October 8th to provide Department Leads a space to ask questions, learn more about program review, and receive guidance on completing their department's program review.
