Get Started on a New Career Pathway!

Pharmacy Technician Curriculum

The Program consists of over 620 hours of classroom and hands-on learning: 87 hours of simulated laboratory time and 340 hours of externship at various facilities.  Students must pass drug screen and background check to be placed in externship site.

Classes will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, to allow working students the opportunity to train for a new career.

Students will need to purchase a daily $2.00 parking pass of at any Day Pass Machine (DPM) available in most parking lots. Please click on Link for campus maps.

  • All textbooks, lab coat, background check, drug screening, insurance and BLS certification.

Application Process
Read and Meet


      • Successful completion of Math Entrance Exam
      • 90 minute exam - calculators allowed.
      • Prepare to show your photo I.D.
      • Review Math Study Guide.  Sample test and answers are available (see below).
      • This math test will use Pharmaceutical Calculations (review pre-algebra - fractions, ratios, decimals, percentages).

      • Scheduling the math test:  Online registration for the Math Entrance Exam will be available as soon as a date has been scheduled.  Please check  back periodically for updated information.


    • Must take the MJC Reading Accuplacer test and place at Reading 82 or higher, OR 
    • Successfully complete Reading 82 or higher with a "C" or higher, OR
    • Possess an AA degree or higher from a U.S. College.

Please Note: Your application will not be accepted for recommendation unless you have met these requirements, so it is highly recommended that you complete the reading assessment testing promptly.  For assessment test information please visit the testing center website.
