If you have received notification that the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) reported that you owe an overpayment of federal student aid funds,  you are required by law to repay any funds received from the federal aid programs to which you were not entitled.

What you must do

  • Contact U.S. Department of Education (DOE) at 1-800-621-3115 to make arrangements to clear your Federal Pell Grant Overpayment
  • Request DOE to fax or email written verification (currently dated clearance letter) that the overpayment has been resolved
