The Community Health Worker Certificate of Achievement will prepare the student to assist individuals in accessing health care services, recognize the specific needs of the community, collect community data to improve health education efforts, and network with public health, clinical, and social service agencies. The student will learn to interpret and monitor community health data for improvement in population well-being, explore possible environmental or systemic causes of adverse health conditions, identify need for changes in policies to improve the health and safety of the community, and investigate legal and regulatory actions for greater understanding of services. Students will be able to assist specific populations in communities by improving access to health care services, increase access to health screenings, assist the community members to better understand the health and social service system, facilitate communication between community members and health providers, work to improve adherence to health recommendations, and help to reduce the need for emergency and specialty services.

This award is designed for students who will work in a small business performing general computer application procedures such as: document preparation, simple calculations using electronic spreadsheets, or simple database management.

The Computer Electronics (Level 4) A.S. Degree builds on the Computer Support Technician (Level 1) Certificate, the Computer Support Specialist (Level 2) Certificate, and the Computer Electronics (Level 3) Certificate to provide a flexible pathway to earn a 2-year College Degree. It prepares students for employment as Computer and Network Support Specialists with options to select a variety of advanced technical specializations and certifications.

The Computer Electronics Certificate (Level 3) builds on the Computer Support Technician (Level 1) Certificate and Computer Support Specialist (Level 2) Certificate to further prepare students for employment as Computer and Information Technology Support Professionals with flexible options to select a variety of more advanced technical specializations and certifications.

The Computer Graphics Applications Associate Degree and Certificate program is structured to enable students to pursue a course of study and computer experience in career areas that rely on computer graphics applications. This program is designed to prepare students for employment, transfer to four year institutions, or to allow employees within these industries to upgrade their skills. The Advanced Certificate of Achievement is an award for the completion of the core classes in the department with a selection of specialized electives. Formerly listed as a Certificate of Achievement in Computer Graphics Applications.

Meeting the Modesto Junior College Associate Degree major requirements does not necessarily mean a given transfer institution’s major requirements have been met.

This certificate is designed for students seeking entry-level job positions in computer network administration, designing networks, installing server and client operating systems, configuring network services, and implementing network security. Note: All of these courses are also preparation for Microsoft certification as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in the individual subject. A student who has completed the Network Administration Certificate would be eligible to complete the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification with the completion of just one additional course from the options list.

This certificate is designed for students seeking entry-level job positions in computer network administration, designing networks, installing server and client operating systems, configuring network services, and implementing network security. Note: All of these courses are also preparation for Microsoft certification as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in the individual subject. A student who has completed the Network Administration Certificate would be eligible to complete the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification with the completion of just one additional course from the options list.

This Certificate of Achievement will prepare students to work as an entry level programmer in the areas of JAVA programming, C++ programming, or Visual BASIC programming.
