According to guidelines from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, a disability is defined as follows:

A physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities typically performed by an individual such as caring for one's self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, and working.

The following are examples of student disabilities we serve:

  • Speech impairment
  • Emotional disturbance - mental/psychological
  • Seizure disorders - orthopedic or neurological
  • Blind/visual - deaf/hard of hearing
  • Respiratory
  • Learning disabilities
  • All other serious health impairments such as diabetes, cardiac, circulatory, mobility, asthma and cancer.
