Take precautions to stay health this semester

Flu (influenza) is a contagious respiratory illness causing fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue. This season, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports 11+ million illnesses, 120,000 hospitalizations, and 5,000 deaths nationwide.

Norovirus causes sudden vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. It results in 19-21 million U.S. illnesses, 109,000 hospitalizations, and ~900 deaths annually, according to the CDC.

Local wastewater surveillance in Modesto and Turlock shows ongoing norovirus activity, helping track community spread.
