Women's History Month: Grito de Mujer Poetry Night

16th Grito de Mujer/16th Woman Scream Poetry Festival  |  Thursday, March 19, 2026 @ 6:30 pm
MJC East Campus |  435 College Ave.  |  Forum Bldg. 101

Celebrate Women's History Month with the Library & Learning Center and SSEC as we present a bilingual reading featuring poets from Mexico, Los Angeles, and the Central Valley. Part of the International Grito de Mujer ® Festival which takes place every March, this event is a link in a chain of simultaneous events in more than 30 countries. The 2026 theme, “Without Boundaries,” is a tribute to Immigrant Women and Girls. We invite you to be in community with us on March 19 to imagine a better world for immigrant girls and women everywhere.

Grito de Mujer is a global movement affiliated with UN Women's Generation Equality initiatives and the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM-OAS). This international movement honors women's lives and raises awareness about violence affecting women and girls.

Snacks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
