The NextUp Program (CAFYES – Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support)
is designed to support current and former foster youth at Modesto Junior College.
NextUp provides holistic, student-centered services to help students achieve their
educational, personal, and career goals while navigating college successfully.
Services & Support
Students enrolled in NextUp have access to a wide range of support services, including:
Academic, personal, and career counseling
Priority registration
Grants and financial assistance
Bookstore vouchers
Food assistance
Referrals to campus and community resources
And much more!
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the NextUp Program, students must meet the following criteria:
Be a California resident
Be a current or former foster youth in California whose dependency or wardship was
established or continued by the court on or after their 13th birthday
