Rising Scholars Network- RSN
The Rising Scholars Network (RSN) at Modesto Junior College provides an opportunity for formerly incarcerated students to engage in an environment of inclusion, support, guidance, comprehension, and mentoring towards the completion of their personal and academic goals.
Our vision strives to allow an underrepresented student population to reach the highest levels of academic achievement. To empower the realization and potential of a life in higher education and the awareness of the direct correlation in reducing recidivism.
Program Student Learning Outcomes (PSLO)
- Students will be able to recognize the reduced rates of recidivism as they progress through the completion of continued higher education degrees
- Students will have an opportunity to engage in a community of peers and staff that identify with their personal and academic experiences
- Students will be engaged in workshops and sessions that will equip them with skills for increased persistence and completion rates
- Students will be able to identify the viable resources essential for successful completion of their academic goals at Modesto Junior College
- Students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of personal and academic expectations of the college environment
