Economics helps us understand how the society functions. It involves a broad range of topics, including health, education, welfare, crime, inequality, agriculture, the environment, labor markets, public finance and policy. Economists use theoretical models and empirical data to inform public policy, household and business decisions. Careers for economics majors include various roles in businesses, law, government, non-profit organizations, international relations, and academia.
