The College Readiness Program was originally established in 1971 with 41 students. The program was designed to give future college students a "Head Start" in their educational goals. Since 1971 generations of students have benefited from their participation in the program.

The College Readiness Program is composed of skill-building courses in Health Education, Guidance, and Study Skills. Students who successfully complete their courses may be eligible to receive 7.5 units of associate degree applicable credit.

The College Readiness Program provides a curriculum designed to give students the motivation and desire necessary for personal and academic growth, as well as the skills necessary to be competitive in the world of work.
