A.A. in Spanish

Spanish Program

HolaThe Department of Spanish at Modesto Junior College offers various courses that provide students with the fundamental skills of speaking, reading and writing in the language. Knowledge of Spanish is highly desirable in many fields, such as health, service, business, travel and interpreting. Beyond the immediate practical advantages of learning another language, there is also the profound personal enrichment that comes from first-hand knowledge of other cultures.

The Division of Literature and Language Arts offers an Associate in Arts Degree in Spanish. Students majoring in Spanish have the opportunity to become acquainted with the history, literature, and art of the Spanish-speaking world. Students are encouraged to speak with faculty regarding preparation, course rigor, and program details. Students are also strongly urged to discuss their plans with MJC counselors regarding the specific lower-division requirements at the four-year colleges and universities they plan to attend.
