The Library and Information Technology Division oversees two libraries, three computer labs, distance education, media services, technology services, television production, and photography. MJC's library collection includes books, magazines, newspapers, journals, DVDs, videos, and a variety of online research databases. These services are available to all students, faculty and staff.

The division offers world-class resources that support the needs of students to conduct college-level research and lifelong learning. Students can participate in curriculum specific instructional sessions arranged by their instructors, or enroll in formal Library Research courses emphasizing skills that can be used in many research and information applications.

Mission

Knowledgeable Library faculty and staff work together to create a user-focused environment that is a center for academic pursuits at Modesto Junior College. By providing equitable access to information, services, and facilities, we foster intellectual inquisitiveness and facilitate effective teaching, study, reflection, and lifelong learning. We promote information literacy through courses, bibliographic instruction sessions with classes, and one-on-one instruction within the library.

Media Services provides a comprehensive range of professional-level multimedia services, from classroom media support and creative production services to advanced digital media communication solutions and systems-design services.

Technology Services serves the college community by providing basic and advanced computing support to enable students, staff and faculty to be successful in the pursuit of their educational goals. To this end we evaluate, integrate and support the best and most cost-effective hardware and software platforms.
