Student Advocates and Volunteers for Interior Design (SAVIDs) sa-veed
This is a student-initiated, volunteer group which supports the Interior Design Department both during their enrollment in the program and afterwards, as design professionals. Initially, the group volunteered significant time during the major renovation of our facilities, cleaning, packing and unpacking, organizing and sorting the many design-related resources: fabric, tile and carpeting samples; wallpaper books, boxes of yardage and stacks of magazines. The organization has grown and become more formalized. Once students accumulate 50 volunteer hours, they are recognized as SAVIDs. The group now has approximately 50 members, many of whom are working in the community and return as mentors and guest speakers.
