The Political Science Department strives to have students connect political science theory to current political problems. We teach courses in each of the major subfields of political science: American Politics, International Relations, Political Theory, and Comparative Politics. Classes on the U.S. Constitution and California Politics are also offered. We additionally have an Internship in Political Science Program designed to provide students with practical experience in politics. Many of our majors transfer to four-year colleges and universities, and a degree in political science prepares one for professions in areas such as government, law, teaching, lobbying, and nonprofit service.
