Work Study Programs

Federal Work-Study (FWS):
Provides part-time employment for students who demonstrate financial need. Students begin work after an official agreement is on file with the Financial Aid Office and may not work for more than 20 hours per week, except when school is not in session.

Students must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work under this program.

The Federal Work-Study Coordinator will assist in placing students in jobs on campus, or at off campus non-profit agencies. Pay is currently $8.00 per hour.

CalWORKs Work-Study:
Provides part-time employment for students in the county's Federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. Students work on or off-campus and are paid $8.00 per hour. This is an opportunity for eligible students to gain on-the-job experience while meeting their TANF work requirements.

CalWORKs subsidizes 75% of the student's on-campus wages. Call (209) 575-7770 for more information.
