The economy and accompanying news headlines have become Halloween scary! Economic meltdown, fiscal panic, nationalization of banks, government bailouts - what is going on? Would you like some answers?
The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project (CEP) will host a presentation by Dr. Kelvin Jasek-Rysdahl, professor of economics and director for Public Policy Studies at California State University, Stanislaus on Wednesday, October 22, at 7 p.m. in Forum 110 on MJC's East Campus. The presentation will touch on the causes, effects, historical context, and media coverage of these recent economic events. The program is free and open to the public and a question and answer discussion will follow the presentation.
Additionally, the Associated Students of Modesto Junior College (ASMJC) and the CEP will offer a final chance for Voter Registration on Monday, October 20, the last day to register to vote in the November 4 election. There will be a voter registration table set up on the East Campus Quad on that day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
