The Modesto Junior College Community Orchestra, directed by Anne Martin, will present a Fall Concert on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 8 p.m. in the Modesto High School Auditorium located at 18 H Street in Modesto.  (This reflects a location change from the Gallo Center to Modesto High School.)  Tickets will be available at the door for only $3. 

            The orchestra will perform Pirates of the Caribbean by Klaus Badelt  and the Bacchanale from Samson and Dalila by Camille Saint-Saens. The program will also include works by Beethoven, De Falla, Wagner, and the Liszt Piano Concerto No. 1 in E Flat Major. The featured soloist for the concert is Dr. Yan Yan Chan, who is internationally recognized for her exquisite concerto performances.

            Dr. Chan, a member of the Modesto Junior College music faculty, has received numerous prizes and scholarships from music institutions in both Asia and North America. She received her Doctorate of Music from the Eastman School of Music where she was awarded the Performer's Certificate in Piano Performance and the graduate award scholarship.
