The Modesto Junior College Job Placement program gives students and alumni an opportunity to connect with employers by providing them with job leads/referrals to part-time or full-time job openings, including customer service, clerical, law enforcement, health, child care positions, and more. A sample of jobs currently posted on the MJC Job Placement website include front desk receptionist, after school program site coordinator, office assistant, mechanic, tutors, cashiers, draftsperson, preschool teacher, direct caregiver, outreach worker, and interpreter.
The MJC Job Placement program also offers the following services for students and alumni -- job placement referrals, access to Win Way Resume and Cover Letter Writing software, employer recruitment on-campus, job fairs, labor market information, resume and interviewing tips, job hunting guide, resume and interviewing DVDs and books, and internship opportunities.
Each fall and spring semester a Job Fair is offered on campus where equal opportunity employers visit MJC seeking to fill their current openings for full-time and/or part-time hourly-based employment. The Job Fair provides MJC students and alumni with a convenient way to explore job opportunities, while providing employers with an opportunity to recruit and hire qualified MJC students and graduates. Some of the past Job Fair employer participants have included United Parcel Service, California Highway Patrol, Gallo Winery, Radio Shack, Modesto Police Department, Frito Lay, Fastenal, National Park Service, Modesto Nuts Baseball, and the City of Modesto.
