Modesto Junior College students can now ride Modesto Area Express (MAX) and Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT) buses for free simply by displaying their MJC ID card with a current semester sticker.
Beginning July 1, 2017, MJC students can ride them to campus, to work, or anywhere the buses run!
Students should follow these three steps to a free ride:
1. Obtain a current semester activity sticker from the Business Office, located on the first floor of the Student Services Building on East Campus.
2. Show their Student ID card with the current sticker as they board a MAX or StaRT bus. They may board the bus whenever it is in service, and get on and off at any stop they like.*
*The following routes and services are excluded: commuter buses going to Merced or the BART and ACE stations; Modesto Dial-A-Ride, Medivan service; any demand response shuttle, and StaRT Paratransit or Dial-A-Ride services.
