Modesto Junior College will hold a "Disability Awareness Day" on Tuesday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center Rotunda on the East Campus. The event, sponsored by the Disability Services Department, will feature an information fair with a variety of community and campus organizations sharing resource information and expertise with staff, students and interested members of the public. The event is free and open to the public.
The Disability Awareness Day will provide information on over 50 programs in the community and at MJC that are available to people with disabilities or people who are seeking community information services. Throughout the event there will be an ongoing "Hunt for Awareness" game to foster attendee involvement. A variety of prizes will be awarded, including Starbucks gift cards and backpacks stuffed with educational treasures.
The whole community is invited to this event. Community attendees may park for only $1 in any student parking facility on campus. For details and information, contact Nancee Carrillo, (209) 575-6671 or TDD (209) 575-6863.
