The Modesto Junior College Art Gallery will present Playing With Fire, an exhibition of painting by Dr. Richard Serros, professor of art at MJC, from October 8 through November 5, 2008.  The Art Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and it is located on East Campus, 435 College Avenue, in front of Founder's Hall. 

            An Artist's Reception will be held on Thursday, October 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Serros will give a talk about his art. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to public and the gallery is wheelchair accessible.

            The exhibition, composed of paintings that were developed and completed during Serros' sabbatical leave last year, includes a surprise viewing component which is only revealed to those present in the gallery.  During the art show there will be some evenings that the artist will engage in painting on the "artwork in progress" that is included in the display. This is a unique opportunity for visitors to observe the artist's process as he develops an intricately stroked, mural size painting.
