Modesto Junior College Dance Department presents Off~Balance in Performance on February 14, 15, 16 at 7 p.m. and February 17 at 1 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on East Campus, 435 College Ave, Modesto.
The concert of modern and contemporary dance features the MJC Off~Balance Dance Company, an eclectic ensemble of young and mature artists that perform with physicality, integrity and grace, and a belief that through movement, the spoken word may be revealed.
“Off~Balance incorporates a cast of 25 dancers who have not only invested hours of hard work into each dance, but have pushed themselves to new heights,” said Kim T. Davis, MJC professor of dance. “The commitment and dedication is inspiring to witness and we invite you to get a glimpse of these wonderful dancers and creative works of art.”
The performance is choreographed by MJC instructors Kim T. Davis, Lori Bryhni and Coleen Patterson, along with Off~Balance choreographer Rebbecca Meyers and MJC students Benjamin Gallegos and Angela Bass.
Ticket prices are $11 for general admission and $9 for students and seniors. The Valentine’s Day special admits two persons for each February 14 ticket purchased and includes a dessert reception. Tickets are available in advance at the MJC Auditorium Box Office on East Campus, open Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 5 p.m., or by calling (209) 575-6776 during these hours. Tickets are also available online at www.mjc.tix.com and at the box office beginning 90 minutes prior to each performance.
