Foundation showcasing “Our Story…Our Legacy” at Summer Sonata
The Modesto Junior College Foundation will showcase “Our Story…Our Legacy” as the theme for this year’s Summer Sonata which is slated for Thursday, July 16 at the Gallo Center for the Arts in downtown Modesto. The elegant evening will feature food catered by O’Brien’s Market, a selection of fine wines and a program that will feature personal stories of how MJC has touched peoples’ lives over the college’s 93-year history.
The event begins with a reception and silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. After dinner there will be a live auction and a program in the Foster Family Theatre featuring MJC alumni stories and Music of the Decades.
The cost to attend is $150 per person and table sponsorships are available. Event proceeds benefit college programs, campus projects and student scholarships.
The Summer Sonata is the premier fundraiser for the Foundation and since its inception has provided well over $1.5 million for MJC student scholarships, program grants, equipment and educational activities not provided by the state. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in 1968, the Foundation exists to generate financial support for and to increase community awareness of the students, programs, and activities of MJC.
