
Dr. WILLIAM
J. KAISER
ATHLETICS AND PHYSICAL, RECREATION AND HEALTH EDUCATION DIVISION DEAN
Modesto Junior College's Dean of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance/Director of Athletics, Dr. Bill Kaiser, is entering his 37th year in education, his 25th year as a sports administrator, and his 9th year as Dean/Athletic Director at MJC. Dr. Kaiser oversees approximately 60 full time and part time faculty/staff and coaches in the division, and is responsible for directing a 21-sport program. There are 18,728 day and evening students including 400 student athletes enrolled at MJC.
Prior to coming to MJC, Dr. Kaiser had been serving as the Director of Athletics at the State University of New York College at Potsdam since 1996 where he was responsible for directing a 14-sport program and teaching professional preparation courses in physical education. Prior to his New York position, Dr. Kaiser served as the Director of Athletics and Recreation at Seattle University in Seattle, Washington, as the Director of Physical Education and Athletics at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, and as the Director of Physical Education and Physical Education Instructor at San Juan Community College in Farmington, New Mexico.
Dr. Kaiser was also employed as the Director of Intramurals, Men's Basketball Coach, and Physical Education Instrctor at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, and as the Director of Intramurals and Men's Soccer and Basketball Coach at the Pennsylvania State University, Wilkes-Barre Campus in Lehman, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Kaiser began his career in physical education as an instructor and coach at the Junior High School level in Rochester, New York and Kansas City, Kansas. Dr. Kaiser holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia (1972), a Master of Arts degree in Physical Education Administration from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado (1974), and a Doctorate degree in Physical Education (Sports Administration) from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1985).
Dr. Kaiser is married to Margie (Germain) Kaiser from Ashley, Pennsylvania, and they have three daughters, Jessica (21) attending California State University Chico; Nicole(19)attending Modesto Junior College, and Courtney (17) attending Grace Davis High School.
