Head Coach: Kelly Nasrawi Kelly Nasrawi begins her first year at Modesto Junior College as the Women’s Head Softball Coach. Prior to MJC, Kelly was the Head Coach of the Downey High School Girls Softball Program in Downey, California for three years. During her stay at Downey High School, she built a winning program and led her Lady Vikes to playoffs two of the three years. She also helped many of her athletes go on and play at the next level, some at local junior colleges as well as out of state schools. Kelly relocated to Modesto, her hometown, one year ago and is currently teaching at Davis High School. Kelly is a graduate of Downey High School in Modesto, California where she was a standout athlete in volleyball, basketball, and softball for four years. Kelly has an extensive softball background, playing competitively for fifteen years, which includes playing Division I softball at Long Beach State. Kelly was on the President’s Honor Roll and received the Academic Athlete Award all four years at Long Beach State. Kelly also received a Big West Conference Honorable Mention her senior year (2001) and at the end of her college career she held the 9th spot on Long Beach State’s all-time list of career strikeouts. Kelly earned her Bachelors Degree in Health Science from Long Beach State in 2001 and her Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 2007. In addition to coaching the Women’s Softball team this year, Kelly will also be a part-time instructor at Modesto Junior College.
Assistant Coach: Jamie Briggs Jamie Briggs begins her first year at Modesto Junior College as the Assistant Coach for the Women’s Softball Program. Jamie is a graduate of Johansen High School in Modesto, California where she excelled as a three sport (volleyball, basketball, and softball) athlete. Jamie played softball competitively for fourteen years and she also brings Division I playing experience to the Pirates Staff. She was the starting shortstop at Texas A&M from 1996 – 2000. Jamie earned many honors at Texas A&M, including Second Team All Big 12 (1997), All-Regional at the NCAA Regional Tournament in Seattle (1999), and she was a GTE/Texas A&M Scholar Athlete for two years. She also holds two A&M Career Records: #8 for doubles and #3 for assists. Jamie also brings coaching experience to the softball program. She was the Varsity Head Softball Coach at Johansen High School from 2003 – 2006. Jamie earned her Bachelors Degree in Community Health from Texas A&M in 2001 and her Teaching Credentials from Chapman University in 2003 and 2005. In addition to assisting the Women’s Softball team this year, Jamie will continue to be a Special Day teacher at Johansen High School.
