When is the application deadline for MJC?
The college does not have a firm deadline. We try to be flexible, however, if you are applying from outside the United States, you should plan to send in your completed application approximately 3 months prior to the start of the semester for which you are applying.
How much does it cost to attend MJC?
You are required to submit a financial statement for a minimum of $15,000. This amount covers $4,700 for tuition and fees, $1,100 for Health Insurance, and $9,200 for living expenses for the eight month academic year. Additional resources will be needed for Summer. This is a very frugal budget and you have to live very carefully to live within this budget.
Is there on-campus housing available?
No, we do not have dormitories, however, we do have a community person who helps students find appropriate housing with a family in the community. Some students prefer to share an apartment with another student or students.
When does school begin?
The Fall semester begins late August to early September and the Spring semester begins in early January. International students are required to come to campus approximately one week before those dates for an orientation program designed especially for them.
When do I register and pay my fees?
Registration is done during orientation week and fees need to be paid within 24 hours of registering.
How much is the per unit cost, and how many units do I need to be a full-time student?
The cost per unit is $193 (may change without notice) and you must be registered for twelve units each semester.
Do I need to take any tests once I arrive?
All students are required to take assessment tests prior to enrolling in Math or English/ESL classes. International students take these tests during orientation week.
Do you provide transportation from the airport?
We can provide transportation for you if you arrive at the Modesto airport. Unfortunately, if you arrive at another airport, this service is not available.

Must I be a high school graduate to attend MJC?
All international students must have completed high school to be admitted to MJC. There is no strict requirement on grades, however, the student must have attained grades that show an aptitude for college level work.
