Modesto is a unique community for a number of reasons not the least of which is the forty year tradition of the Citizens Committee for International Students (CCIS).  This special organization of Modesto residents, works closely with the ISP to provide continuing support for students from outside the borders of the United States.  The Committee assists with new student orientation, housing arrangements, airport pickup and much more.  The Committee also plans special events for the students throughout the year.  Activities include:  International Family Day Picnic, Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Open House and Graduation Party.  The caring members help to provide a home away from home for the students.

In addition, one other group helps the college in providing support for the students. The group provides lunches during our orientation weeks and family friends for the students.  MJC is indeed lucky to have such support from the community.
