Fall 2014 Semester Class

The MJC Phlebotomy Program 

Prepares students that complete all requirements successfully to apply for a California Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate. Student are required to complete

  • 60 hours of classroom instruction and
  • 40 hours of externship - Practical Instruction in a Clinical Setting. NOTE: the externship will be 1 full week, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. During this time students must complete a minimum of 50 venipunctures, a minimumm of 10 skin punctures, and observe two arterial blood draws.
  • Successfully take a national Phlebotomy Certification Examination

The program is designed to be completed in approx 9 months to 1 year

Tuition - $2,985
(includes textbooks, lab material costs and liability insurance and required background check for externship)

This program has been approved for a Sallie Mae Smart Loan. The interest for this loan is based on your credit history. It is a loan that must be paid back. Some student loans require a co-signer. For more information call our office at 575-6063.

Before you apply to the program you will be required to attend an Information Meeting. You will receive paperwork to turn in with your application at this meeting. The dates and times for the information meetings will be posted at a later date (around January 2015)
