LVN to ADN Advanced Placement Pathway

The LVN to ADN Advanced Placement Pathway begins in the fall and spring semesters of each year. It is a two-semester pathway. Although most classes are scheduled during the day, clinical experiences may include both morning and evening hours and weekends. In the last semester of the program, there is a five-week preceptorship. During that time, students are expected to be in the clinical setting on a full-time basis. Students must be flexible and prepared to accept these assignments. Daily access to a computer with internet connection is highly recommended for success. Students should anticipate child care arrangements and be prepared for start-up costs of approximately $2000.00.

The LVN to ADN Advanced Placement Pathway uses a Multicriteria Screening Process for admission. The application is online and accepted once a year during the annual application period of May_1 through May_31.Detailed information is posted under the Multicriteria Screening Process Advising Record (MSPAR) and the Online Application Instructions. If you would like more information about the program and the selection process, please enroll in NURSE 115: Introduction for Nursing Majors. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Advanced Placement Pathway at Modesto Junior College prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
