Associate Degree in Nursing - General Information
Welcome to the Associate Degree Nursing web page where you will find information about
the nursing program at Modesto Junior College. Modesto Junior College’s nursing program
has been educating nurses for over 50 years. We have an excellent reputation within
the community and with our industry partners. The program’s curriculum is robust and
well rounded, offering 324 hours of classroom instruction and 972 hours of concurrent
clinical experiences in local health care settings. The Allied Health facility is
state-of-the-art with a fully staffed simulation lab, 24 bed skills lab and two large
lecture classrooms with videoconferencing capabilities. Program evaluations from our
students, faculty, graduates and employers are overwhelmingly positive.
During the summer, we coordinate work experience classes for our students that compliment
and reinforce learning. The program’s board pass rate exceeds state and national averages
while the attrition rate (student drop out) is below those averages. The vast majority
of our graduates find employment within one year of graduation within Stanislaus and
Tuolumne counties.
MJC offers articulation pathways for our nation’s veterans and licensed vocational
nurses desiring to continue their education. We also have an articulation pathway
for our graduates to continue for a bachelors of science degree in nursing at California
State University (CSU) Stanislaus. We do our best to accommodate transfer students
and foreign graduates on a space available, and case by case basis.
We are dedicated to assisting students pursue their dream of becoming a registered
nurse. This site is designed to help you answer the questions you may have about how
and where to begin. You will find general program information links on the left while
