In the Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOP&S) Bridge Program, students participate in a Career Paths Learning Community. The MJC EOP&S Program partners with Stanislaus County, Community Services Agency, and several other local agencies to provide students with a way to discover a new career path.

Participants in the Bridge Program are former Foster Youth, former Wards of the Court, or EOP&S eligible students. Students take classes together for 15 weeks; learning all the basic skills necessary to achieve their educational goals.

The Bridge Experience

For many students the journey through high school was a difficult one.  College is sometimes a scary mountain many feel is not within their reach.  In the EOP&S Bridge Program student come from all walks of life.  25-30 students are chosen from over 300-400 applicants.  In the Bridge Program students are to adhere to a very strict schedule.  All students take all the same classes together.  This provides an atmosphere of familiarity and allows students to bond.  Many students like the family atmosphere that Bridge provides.  Students receive above and beyond support from administrators, faculty, and staff.  Bridge is much more than taking some classes, it is a life changing experience.
